RVM & SC KARTING

The stage is set for the third round of the Rift Valley Motor & Sport Club (RVM&SC) Karting to be held at the Solai Clubhouse asphalt track this weekend. In what is another first for the Rift Valley based Club, drivers will use the new timing device and transponders that have just been received to enhance quality and accuracy during practice and actual racing. Chief Technical Steward Bhavik Soni was at the Nakuru's RVM&SC "Clubhouse" on Thursday  to install and test the equipment, ready for the Round 3 of the Karting Championship scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
The 50cc has the likes of Kush Gohil as well as leader Amani Nzomo who is determined to avenge the defeat he suffered to Javir Dadhley in round 2. In the 60cc are leader Philip Ndegwa, Jadini Nzomo and Jason Oosterik. Tush Mavji leads the Rotax Junior Class followed by Jeremy Wahome and Sameer Nanji. Officials for the event will be as follows: Clerk of the Course is Chirag Soni, Karin Bernardi the Chief Time Keeper. The Chief Technical Steward and scrutineer is Bhavik Soni. Stewards are  Andrew Ndegwa/Raj Dadhley. Signing-on will take place on Saturday from 11:00am. Practice will only be allowed from10:00hrs - 17:00hrs on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the  anticipated new Super X track is ready.  Chairman of the RVM&SC, Rob Collinge has, in the meantime, welcomed bike riders to the Clubhouse and race track. "Unlike the current track in Nairobi, we do have a Clubhouse which is attached to the pits and the Super X track and I  respectfully remind you that in the vicinity of the Clubhouse it's Forbidden to ride your bikes into the pit area. The bikes have to be switched off and pushed in front of the Clubhouse.  We do not want the grass torn up and the Clubhouse filling with dust," said Collinge. Motocross riders have already had a feel of the venue that will host the forthcoming RVM&SC organized National Motocross Round 3 scheduled for  March 31 and April 1.
