Title sponsors Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) have officially presented the sponsorship package for the 2010 KCB Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) series as preparations for the new season gathered momentum.
This is  part of the three year partnership Kenya Motor Sports Foundation (KMSF) signed with KCB last season to race ahead with rallying through to 2011.
The Bank and KMSF have had a long and cherished relationship for seven years taking Kenyan motor-sports to greater heights.
"This relationship has been instrumental in promoting our brand across the country and we want to nurture it further for the benefit of sport and our two organizations," Divisional Director Public Affairs and Communications Kepha Bosire said on the inauguration of the 2010 KCB KNRC season in Nairobi.
Mr Bosire presented the Sh. 30million dummy cheque to KMSF Chairman, Jim Kahumbura  during the launch of the title sponsors and co-sponsors of the 2010 KCB KNRC.
All the six co-sponsors-I-way Africa, Highlands Waters, Car Track, Identisys, EAPC Co. Ltd and National Oil -have renewed their sponsorships for the 2010 KNRC season.

In line with FIA's drive to make motor rallying friendly to the environment, KCB also announced that they will work hand in hand with KMSF this year to implement the FIA 10-point campaign to make rally cars green.
This year will see Car Track take their sponsorship a notch higher by fitting all the rally cars with transponders. Car Track's Sales and Marketing Manager James Kahonge said the state-of-the-art technology they are using to track cars is analogous to that applicable in the World Rally Championship (WRC).
"This is a great opportunity by rally organizers to show the world governing body (FIA) that Kenyan events are up to scratch as far as technology is concerned. We are working closely with KMSF to ensure that Safari is back in the WRC," said Kahonge. Besides tracking, Car Track will also look into enhancing drivers' safety by use of panic buttons with which if pressed, the rally HQs will be able to ascertain if any crew is in distress "for the onward dispatch of emergency help."
Meanwhile, preparations for the KCB Biashara Banking Rally have hit fever pitch. The rally will be flagged off outside the KCB Eldoret West Branch on February 6 before embarking on a short spectator stage around town. The rally proper will be staged in Iten on February 7.
The KCB Safari rally will be staged on April 2-4 in Thika and Kajiado while Kisumu returns to the circuit with the KCB Visa Card Rally on May 16 after a two years lull.
