With the present scenario, Uganda will be out to defend the regional title they won for the first time last year.

They go into the last leg with 1,250 points, while Kenya have 1260 and Tanzanians 250.

Uganda has enlisted 25 riders with Kenya entering between 35 and 40 exponents.

Uganda skipper Arthur Blick was enthusiastic. Said he: "We cannot rest on our first leg achievements. This leg (third) is vital for us as the gap between us and Kenyans is big."

Kenyans are taking nothing to chance. One of the motivating aspects in the local camp is the return of MX85 wonder kid, Ivan Guya. Guya has now to terms with his KTM 85 machine after two races in Nairobi’s AMU and Diani last month. Guya, however, observed he is the very dare-devil boy he is known to be at his MX85 specialty. “Its business as usual,” quipped Guya.

The event also counts towards the eighth and last round of the H20/Oilibya National Motocross Championship  series whose titles- expected from 50cc -have been sealed at penultimate meeting in Diani.

The newly crowned MX65 Kenya Champion Apollo Mbuki will be aiming to finish the season on a high.

With enhanced competitiveness, Kenyans should dominate all classes from MX50 through to MX1. The MX 50 class is expected to go to Murigu Njiiri, with Mbuki set to dominate MX65.

Murigu takes on Uganda’s Blick siblings Paddy and Aleistair, Omar brothers Wazi and Ali as well as Uzear Butt and Joshua N Mwangala. Guya and his Mx85 compatriots face off with Van Pee siblings Vanessa and Nathalie, Moses Mwangi, Yannick Duyck, and the Kiggundu brothers Talha and Fatuh Kiggundu.

Kenya’s Cruze ‘Control’ Muigai (MX2) and Shivam Vinayak (MX1) are expected to win.
