“We have come a long way. Some two to three years back, Kenyans could overlap us thrice but now we are happy that some of our riders are achieving podium finishes,” said Blick.

Blick came second overall at MX1 but noted his long drive from Kampala on Friday took toll on his fitness.

Ivan Guya is the EA AMU MX85 regional champion after securing the third win of the regional showdown. Ivan failed to capture the national MX85 diadem after skipping three meetings with leg injury.

Kenya’s Yamaha 250cc four stroke rider Cruze Muigai walked home with the MX2 AMU crown unchallenged when his cousin Tutu Maina skipped the season closer after he fell off his KTM machine  in training. Ugandan Unissan Bakunda romped  home second also in a Yamaha contraption and his Maxime Van Pee giving Kawasaki a third place on 43points.

Muigai was all smiles after a flawless MX2 victory with 60 points: “I had lots of fun today and I wish Tutu was racing to give me pressure. Because there was no stiff opposition  I was making a wider gap at the beginning of the three heats then pace myself thereon,” said Tutu.

Apollo Mbuki and Murigu Njiiri also added supplemented National titles title to the AMU success at MX65 and MX50 classes respectively.

For Mbuki it was a satisfactory result considering he is moving up to the MX65 next year.
