-Hinga is an IT Manager with Computech attached to Celtel Kenya
-Lives in Nairobi
-started rallying in 2008
-First rally was KCB Simba Savings Rally. He drove from Suswa to Ngong. The
result was 2nd overall in the 2wheel drive class.
-Inspired by Azar Anwar who gave him his first ride in a rally car. In
2007 when Azar took a break from rallying he was servicing for his brother
Asad. Hinga was there for most of the rallies and learnt a lot from him.
-Introduced to Azar by the Rallye Sports Club secretary Liz Thuya.
-Hinga was the surpsise winner of the 2009 KCB Safari Rally 2008 after
jasmeet Chana ran into mechanical problems
-Hinga is a student of Azar Anwar Training programe and drives an ex-Robert
Gow Toyota Levin known to have performed very well in the 2WD Category of
the past KCB KNRC Championships.
-Mwenda is former navigator to the late John Ngunjiri and a member of the
Kenya Rally Team now headed by Ben Muchemi
-Mwenda is 38 years old and runs the Mweki Auto-Service garage on Nairobi ’s
Likoni road.
-Mwenda’s first encounter with rally cars was way back in 1993 when he
serviced for former Group N Champion Phineas Kimathi.
- In 2007 Mwenda navigated for Stanley Thuo and teamed up with rookie
Charles Hinga on his 2009 2WD course.
