- SUPPLEMENTARY CLASS - 

60: IAN DUNCAN/AMAAR SLATCH (DT DOBIE)-NISSAN PATROL PICKUP
-One of the most successful drivers in the KNRC -Duncan is the 2008 National Autocross Champions -1994 WRC Safari Rally winner -Five time Kenya National rally champion -Duncan previously raced two pickups, a Toyota Land Cruiser and Toyota Hilux Turbo -Has won the Guru Nanak Rally a record 11 times - Duncan hopes to end the teething problems of his Nissan Patrol pick he started driving towards the end of the season last year -Retired on transport road section during the 2008 KCB S&L Rally in Oltepesi on his first outing with the Nissan Patrol Pick up -Has previously race with Dave Williamson, Ian Munro and Saleem Haji -Drove in the Classic Car Cup with the Ford Mustang when the 2008 season started _Will be driving a Ford Mustang during November’s KQ Safari Classic

61: IAIN FREESTONE/PRESTON AYRES –FORD ESCORT RS
-Briton Freestone is no stranger to Kenyan circuits and keeps returning here time and time again. -One of the most successful rally coaches/instructors with a background in physical education & sport.
-1982 - started stage rally driving in a Mini Cooper S, after a 10yr career as international white water canoeist -Freestone has also instructed canoeing, flying and skiing to a high level, all of which require good judgment and co-ordination, both physically and mentally. -He is convinced that the skills required to drive rally cars well can be learned and this is where an experienced coach/instructor is invaluable. -Having built and prepared competition cars throughout his career , Freestone also has an in-depth understanding of the mechanical aspects of a competitive car and what is needed to get the best out of any said car.
-1983 - Competed in national and regional events consistently winning class and 2nd & 3rd overall in Cooper S.
-1984 - built Mk I Escort. 3rd place overall in London Counties championship. 1st in 1600 class.
-1985 - compete in Escort and built Sunbeam TI. Class wins at internationals in Belgium and Holland. entered first RAC rally. -1986 - numerous class wins on internationals, including 1st group A 1600 Lombard RAC Rally
-1987-1992 - compete in numerous international and national rally's with numerous class wins and top 10 overall result. Supported in part by Toyoto when driving 1600 Corrolas, (also VW GTI's & Suzuki's)
-1993 - Co-drove/mentored for Gilly Handley on her campaign in the high profile Metro GTI championship.
-1994-99 - full-time rally instruction, coaching drivers Nick & Dennis Tate, John Crockford. Numerous setting up customers rally cars.
-2000 - coached and co-drove for Sophie Robinson on British Historic Championship Mini Cooper S
-2001 - compete in British Historic Championship, winning 5 out 6 events
-2002 - overall event wins in British Historic Championship, also employed to drive for Skoda Motorsport British Fabia Team, winning national N1 championship.
-2003 - second place on the EVO Africa event (major marathon event in Namibia). Again driving for Skoda Motorsport British Fabia Team, in a Group A Fabia, 4th place and best Brit in Ypres, Belgium. Wining a post historic event in Escort.
-Dec 2003 - entered East African Safari Rally, placing 6th.

62: ASLAM KHAN/SAMIRA KHAN –FORD ESCORT RS -Aslam Khan is the defending classic Car Cup introduced last year -ASlam Khan is a member of the ALS Rally Team and elder brother to 2003 Navigator champion Arshad Khan *-*Aslam Khan is an experienced and seasoned driver and navigator who is taking part in the 2009 KQ East African Safari Classic Rally for the third time. Aslam Khan qualified as a Royal Air Force pilot back in the early ‘70s but the Kenyan Air Force was reluctant to let Aslam Khan go rallying. -However, persistence paid off and the Kenyan started navigating in 1973. -He has competed in the Safari Rally no fewer than nine times, winning Group 1 in 1980 (18th overall with driver Takashi Hirabayashi) in one of the first four-wheel drive Subarus to contest the event -Claimed his best Safari Rally result in 1983 when he finished fourth overall in a Nissan 240RS with Jayant Shah. -He and Shah also claimed the Kenyan Rally Championship title in 1981, 1982 and 1983 and in the same period, he clinched a hat-trick of Himalayan Rally victories (twice with Shah and once with Ramesh Khoda). -Aslam Khan’s navigator Samira is a pilot with KQ -Samira started navigating last year when his cousin Farhaaz proceeded to London for further studies.

64: JAYANT SHAH/LOFTY DREWS –DATSUN 260Z
-His first appearance on a Safari was in 1973 in a Datsun 1600SSS but it was not until 1978 at the wheel of a Datsun 160J that he finally got himself on the scoreboard with a ninth place overall. -Throughout his rally career, Jayant Shah has remained faithful to Datsun. -Jayant Shah and Lofty Drews are in a performance test programme of their Datsun 260Z ahead of November's KQ East African Safari Classic. -The two stalwarts of the old-type marathon Safari Rally - Jayant remained with a 240RS until Group B was cancelled at the end of 1986 by which time he had done the Acropolis Rally twice, finishing just out of the top ten on both occasions, and taken seventh place on the Argentina Rally. -Jayant then used a Nissan 200SX for three Safari rallies, two of them with Lofty, before dropping out of major rallying after retiring on the 1990 Safari. - Lofty Drews’ rally career stretches back even further. Lofty did his first Safari with Tony Fall in 1968 with a BMC 1800 prepared at the factory but entered by the local dealer, Benbros.

ROMMY BHAMRA/HARVINDER JURTLEY (DATSUN 240Z) - Won the 2008 Rob’s Magic Quattro Charge in March 2008 -The duo are testing their car ahead of the November KQ Safari Classic - Rommy and Jutley took 22^nd place in the 2007 KQ Safari Classic driving a Datsun 260Z. -Rommy was a contender in the inaugural Classic Car Cup won by Aslam Khan

66: MITCHEL PUCHERCOS/ -( ALS RALLY TEAM )-Datsun 240Z
-Puchercos participated in the the KQ Safari Classic last year -Managing Director of Bamburi Cement, a subsidiary of the Larfage Group of Companies -A student of Azar Anwar Rally Training programme that has churned out many drivers -Made his debut at the 2007 KCBGuru Nanak Navigated by Azar Anwar in a Daewoo Sielo -Lies 4^th in the Classic car Cup 16 points -Formerly the Managing Director of Bamburi Cement, a subsidiary of the Larfage Group of Companies -Still works with Larfage but based in Korea -Puchercos is an avid participant of Classic events -Puchercos is a Frenchman

67: HUSSEIN MALIK/GEORGE KIAMA –SUBARU LEGACY
-Hussein Malik made a debut in the 2008 KCB Simba Savings Rally in Suswa in an ex-Asad Khan Subaru Legacy that he has disposed of to newcomer Rex Omolle. -George Kiama is a veteran navigator

68: STANLEY THUO/TBA –TOYOTA CELICA GT4
-Made his debut as a driver in the 2007 KCB Cub Account Rally in Eldoret and finished 13^th overall. -Thuo has been involved in rallying activities before with veteran navigator Thuita Karanja.

69. REX OMOLLEH/DAVID NJENGA – SUBARU LEGACY
-Rex and Njenga are made their debut last year - The car he is using is in the ex-Malik Hussein Legacy after their debut in the 2008 KCB S&L Rally -Eager - Braved all weather conditions on their debut in Olepolos ranging from the dust to flooded stages of Oletepesi after a heavy downpour. -The duo soldiered on to bring the ex-Hussein Malik Subaru Legacy to 19th position.
